Rural operations and planning specialists Malcolm Scott Consultants have relocated to a brand new office to coincide with the business’ ongoing growth and development of their services.
The business, which was launched in 1986, has a strong reputation throughout the UK for its strategic business development and town planning advice for garden centres and farm shops.
In 2016, Malcolm Scott Consultants was acquired by full-service property consultancy Harris Lamb, and over the past three years it has expanded its team and services. Whilst the Malcolm Scott team primarily focus on strategic business development and town planning, they are now also able to offer a wider range of services, including retail and catering operational support, business rates advice, ecological support, alternative land use and building project management.
With its client base growing in recent years, these services have proved to fuse together well to provide clients with end-to-end services as part of their development plans.
Andrew Burton, of the newly rebranded Malcolm Scott, said: “The past few years have brought multiple challenges to garden centres and farm shops businesses throughout the UK, and it has been challenging for all of us. Before the Covid pandemicv struck, we started to develop our services and the past couple of years have enabled us to examine our business model and diversify to adapt to the changing needs of the sector.
“Together with our colleagues at our sister company Harris Lamb, we were able to put together a very strong range of support services to add some strength to our existing business development and town planning experience. Our services now include retail and catering operational advice, ecology, business rates guidance, building consultancy and land management.
“The take-up of those services over the past 12 months, as businesses have themselves responded to a changing marketplace and expanded their own offering, has led to us needing more space for our growing team and because of this we have relocated from our offices in Worcester city centre to a larger, more accessible premises with convenient access links to house our expanding team and provide swift transport links to our clients, who are based throughout the country,” he said.
As part of the business’ rebrand, Malcolm Scott has invested in a new website to demonstrate its expanded range of end-to-end services.
“We are fortunate that, through the combination of expertise and the services provided by both ourselves and Harris Lamb, we can genuinely claim to be an end-to-end provider; advising on every aspect of business development and town planning, through to design and building, ending with advice on daily operational needs such as process management and team development.
“Having committed to a range of trade shows in 2023 to showcase our full range of services, we’re excited to highlight everything that our new and improved organisation provides, and to share details of the projects we’ve been working on in recent years,” added Andrew.
Malcolm Scott has relocated from St Mary’s Street to Unit 4, the Triangle, Wildwood Drive, Worcester, WR5 2QX.
